They light up my world
Like stars dancing in the night sky
But you'd never know

Their significance is deceptive
As is their size
Yet they're larger than perceived
Not unlike distant planets

In you I find such a treasure
You may be one yourself
Our playful banter is priceless
Much like our conversation

Words imbued with simple happiness
Flow like rivers from your mouth
Carrying me away
To a warm and gentle place

'You're so skinny!' 'You don't need to lose weight!' 'You look great!' Lies…all lies. I know the truth. Too many pounds here, too many there. Hips, stomach, butt… I want it all gone. This poem felt a little strange to put together, it's been a while since I wrote something sappy like this. Ahh well, it was an enjoyable poem to write.
